Nixon on passing of Rich Blakley, advocate for the disabled JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Gov. Jay Nixon today issued the following statement on the passing of Rich Blakley, of the Disabled Citizens Alliance for Independence. The Governor had appointed him last year to the Missouri Quality Home Care Council. "I am saddened today to learn of the passing of one of Missouri's most committed advocates, Rich Blakley. Rich provided a resonant voice, both here in the capitol and at home in Viburnum, on behalf of Missourians with disabilities and those in need of care. His efforts gave comfort and relief to countless Missourians and constantly reminded us that no person should be forgotten. My sympathy goes out to Rich's loved ones and everyone whose lives his work touched."
